The Matt Black Healers/Matt Black Cross

Welcome back my wandering friend.

Time to revisit a older faction of mine - one so old it didn’t make it into this blog. Time to change that.

The Vaultsys Vault 999 was populated with Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Engineers and other humanitarians (and a few hippies too). During their time underground they decided that to help humanity re-build their destroyed world they would need medicine, teaching and help.

They formed the Matt Black Healers - otherwise known as the Matt Black Cross. When the vault opened in the Glowing Wastes they set up a hospital above it. The vault was used to make medicines and other items wastelanders would need.

They set up teams to wander the wastes teaching and helping. Each team had a Surgeon, A Medic, 2 nurses, a survivalist and engineer. They also had some guards. Plenty of Mercs were willing to work for low wages because the health care was so good.

The faction attracted hordes of people wanting to learn. The wandering teams also pick up people out in the Wastes who like the life style.

Today the Matt Black Healers are spread across most of the wastelands. Their knowledge, skills and teaching has saved countless lives. It is one of the few factions that isn't obsessed with fighting, killing and war. The faction are also looking to build schools in the larger settlements to start to educate people not only in medicine & survival but reading and writing as well.

This couple of figures are reworks for the faction. They serve as medics/doctors for the teams. The figure on the left is a Grenadier Future Cop and the figure on the right is a plastic Combat Zone trooper (by EM4). Both figures got fresh paint but the CZ trooper got some putty shoulder pads too.

Sometime in the future I will have to get a group shot of this faction (all four of them to date!).

Thanks for looking. Take care out there.

Convert a 10

Welcome back Wanderer, come get warm by the fire. Let me tell you about Ten.

Over on the Post Apoc Wargames Forum

There is a annual challenge set by the Warlord. This year’s challenge was to convert the celebration 10 year figure. See what others have done here:

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/post_apoc_wargames/warlords-challenge-2019-f59/

Finally I have gotten around to doing the  Warlord’s challenge - Convert a 10 figure. Took me long enough to get motivated.

I got carried away and forgot to take WIP pictures as I went along. DOH!

Starting with a 10 figure I had a dig about in the bits box. After uncovering a few different arms from various manufacturers I discovered a pistol wielding arm. The arm came from EM4 Trooper Command arms - which are metal and designed to add a bit of variety to the Combat Zone plastic troopers.

Carefully I clipped the arm away from the figure and filed it smooth. The shoulder pad had to be removed too. At this point I filled a couple of holes in the cast, mainly in the backpack and sleeping roll.

The arm was lined up by eye and the spigot trimmed off. The arm was further trimmed to make it fit. After supergluing the arm in place a little greenstuff filler was added. A new shoulder pad was sculpted from greenstuff.

Hey presto - done. I meant to add some further pouches but I forgot in my hurry to finish the figure. DOH!!

A simple and fairly quick conversion. I may do more in the future as I still have a pile of these figures (if anyone is interested in getting a 10 figure please contact me at mattblackgod@gmail.com).

Thanks for looking. Take care out there.

Matt Black City Report 12 - Claw Company

Journal of Senior Mag Stevo
Date 02070117

Day 12 Claw Company

After the Intel from the Wanderer that one of neighbours may be the infamous Claw Company we decided to use the drones to take a closer look.

There location is here on the map circled in green. Our location is the one circled in blue. Claw Company base is 11 miles away.

The images show a well equipped and armed group of around 12 warriors and what looks like a old combat droid. We have confirmed that they wear the claw co markings. This band will certainly be well trained veterans. They are certainly a threat to our security.

The figures are EM4 Combat Zone plastics featuring a few conversions.

These mercenaries spotted our drone and shot it down.

Claw Company are renowned for having few morals and kill for fun. They have been known to turn for better wages or even turn on their employers.

The presence of these cold hearted murderers burns into every law man sense we have. I had to fight every impulse to go and deliver justice to these criminals for hire.

Magistrate Black thinks we should hire them to take out local threats or even to go up against the Trogs. Then we can deal with them. I do not want to act as there is only four of us and it contravenes our orders.

Magistrate Monk pointed out that destroying our drone could be classed as a crime or even a act of war if we needed a reason to act.

Claw Company is planned to be replaced at some point in the future.

Happy Giant Mutant Bunny Day!! Oh and some minis too!

This day in ancient times was celebrated by the exchange of chocolate eggs and for some unknown reason the need to dress up as a giant mutant bunny rabbit. So from all of us on mattblackgod's world....

HAPPY GIANT MUTANT BUNNY DAY!!

Right who wants to see some figures? *cocks the kneecapper* I said WHO wants to see some figures??

First up is a random lone Stalker equipped with a home built SMG - often nicknamed "The Ba***rd" due to misfires, poor accuracy and jamming when you don't want it too.

The figure is a Warlord Bolt Action plastic WW2 British Tommy. I added a hood to the figure and that is pretty much it. One thing to note is that the Bolt Action figures are noticeably smaller than other 28mm figs including the Combat Zone ones.I originally intended to use the bolt action arms and weapons with the Combat Zone figures to make Stalker conversions but the arms are too short and weapons a bit on the small side.

There has been other conversions on going on. My old Combat Zone plastic Gangers sat there unloved. So this is what happened....

L- R The left two have CZ trooper command arms while the guy on the far left has a Anvil head and a putty scarf. The third figure from left has been re-armed with GW 40K Dark Eldar arms. The guy on the right had the goofy looking assault rifle shaven from his arms. A resin shot gun replaces the original weapon.

L-R The lady on the far left has GW 40K Dark Eldar arms while the other two figures have EM4 CZ command arms added to give them the gunfighter look.

The CZ gangers look a little too high tech for post apoc so my plan is to use them as either Block Gang members for Utopia City or as Ships Crew/Pirates for Wild Galaxy.

I have a few more of the CZ gangers and troopers in the unpainted pile. A few more figure conversions will follow in future. I recently acquired the Wargames Factory Survivors (male and female) so any spare parts will find there way into this project.
