Wasteland Wondering. ..A catch up.

Welcome back to another Wasteland Wondering. It has been a while since I last posted. I am still alive and kicking.

In this post I hope to cover what I have been up to. Sadly very little hobby has happened. This forced hobby hiatus is slowly driving me insane. At 8 months old the two little kitties are now larger than our 13 year old cat, Joey. Their range of devastation has grown whilst their curiosity and willfulness hasn't.  Getting any hobby related items out will lead to much yelling and damage. They found some 28mm scale mdf sci fi computer console/desks for the Technomancer project. I found them smashed to bits after the kitties thought they made interesting toys. Some bits are still missing.

With Christmas around the corner we are going to be in for a bumpy holiday season. I am expecting full on kitten (well cat now) fueled Christmas decoration devastation. There is a Gonk soft toy they are harrassing as I type. They should be slowing down soon, I hope! Strangely we can't imagine life without the furry manics.

Meanwhile life has kept me busy. The unused model sale went well and I have another potential buyer for some of my other odds n ends, if I ever get my act together. My wife talked me into going to a couple of Rugby League games during the recent 4 nations tournament. Plus the League final between Wigan and Warrington. Good job I don't mind watching Rugby! I have also been catching up with an old friend who fled to Canada years ago (Hi Ian, if you are reading this!). In addition we have been doing a fair bit of touring the wonderful country around these parts.

I have flicked through a few rule books. I thought 40K Killteam would be a good way to get some games locally as I have small collection of 40k figures (I have a evil plot to twist 40K players to the darkside of Post Apoc Wargaming. *cue evil plot laugh*). As it turns out if you plan to use other factions other than the two in the Killteam boxset you will need the codexs for them. They don't put that on the box for us “collector” types. GW really does know how to wring the money out of a product. I would need Orks, IG (or whatever they call the guard now) and possibly Space Wolves.

I managed to read the entire 2000AD's Durham Red series of novels and Whisky by Evan Pickering. All good books offering many ideas to the wargamer. I hope to get some reviews of these written soon.

Hobby wise I am still picking up the odd bunch of figures that grab my interest but that has become stunted by the actual lack of hobby happening. I have plans and it is frustrating not to be able to start work on them (such as restarting MBW in 15mm!). Good job the kittens are cute and I love them.

One thing I have found strange is the new Fallout 4 game. I am a huge fan of the series. It has hugely inspired my hobby work. However for some reason that I can't put my finger on Fallout 4 just doesn't gel with me. It is like something essential is missing. I wonder if any other seasoned Fallout Out players feel the same about it?

Well that rounds this post up for now, thanks for looking and stay safe out there!
