Welcome back to my blog. I have not been getting time so here is a update on where things are up to.
I managed to get a new ride. It's a 1990 Yamaha XV1100 Virago. Nice bike for its age. That has been taking some of my free time. This has lead to a rework of my yard, see real terrain making. I still have some patio work to do and a shed to build (my new toy needs some place to sleep).
My Cruisers.
For my recent birthday my wife got me some nice hobby goodies. A couple of 1/24 cars (that is 6 I have to post apoc now), an airbrush, some brushes, a basing kit and a couple of MDF buildings. Am I a lucky guy or what?
The new buildings.
I think I need to have a terrain month soon. I also got myself some terrain by Amera Plastic Mouldings to add more crumbly ruins to my table.
I picked up this month's Wargames Illustrated Post Apoc issue. It had a good history of the genre and lots of inspirational eye candy. It left me a little let down. The articles only covered two rule sets. There was no mention of the Post Apocalyptic Wargames Forum, which existed before any of wargames forums even considered Post Apoc as proper genre. There was no mention of any of the excellent free ruleset out there such as Wastelands 3 or Skank.
The new Mad Max movie has left me hungry for a more PA car madness. I am thinking of a desert setting similar to Mad Max and Tank Girl. The voices in my head keep telling me to go to 20mm for this lunacy. Arrrggghhhh.
I have managed to do some hobby work. The Warboys are nearly done. They need the detailing sorting. I also found a old Necromunda ganger to use as a character.
A couple of finished Warboys.
The car is nearly done. I changed the front wheels for resin Ramshackle ones and added the crazy exhausts. The flame thrower needed some scratch building work. It still needs a coupla gunner.
I painted up a resin buggy. The guns on this will be single shot dart throwers. I am trying to keep over powered weapons out of my Post Apoc.
In this vein I had to rework the Dicey Car. The twin autocannons it had made it too powerful. I am reworking it with a couple of Ork Rockets. These will be black powder powered and explosive. However there is only two and they are highly erratic to hit.
As start on 1:24 here is the bodywork of the hotrod I am working on.
Now all I need to do is stop the urge to Post Apoc my new bike.
That is all for now. Thanks for looking.
Nice the Delaque looks great with all those diggas. I wonder if some Heresy Trenchies would work well being mixed in :) There Warboys rides are coming along nicely! Those buildings are pretty cool where are they from?
ReplyDeleteThey may work too. I will look into them.
ReplyDeleteThe buildings are from Wargame model mods. http://wargame-model-mods.co.uk
Can you tell me what the manufacturer of the resin buggy is? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteIt is made by Puppetswar.
