Hobby Review 2025

 Hello and Welcome Back,

As the end of the year approaches, its time for me to look back on 2025. Like many of you, there has been some highs and some lows. I did manage to sort out a major peice of repair/maintence work to be done to the house, which hopefully will allow some further work inside (where I will learn if I am any good at plastering!). There are some odd jobs that need sorting outside, which I hope to get handled next year.

I managed to convert my motorbike to alloy wheels vastly improving the handleing and safety. The whole thing took a bit of head scratching, but I have learnt alot about Truimph wheel and brake disc sizes, offsets etc. I got some happy rides in this year, and I hope to get more next year.

My reading has vastly increased. There has been lots of time sitting waiting this year. My usual amount is 6 to 9 books. I have managed 25 books this year. Mostly Sci Fi but I did manage to re-read a couple of my favourite Discworld books. They have fed my imagination and have given me some ideas for the table top.

Hobby wise I have also had a very producitve year, managing to paint 178 figures, not including reworks or the terrain that I worked on. That's three times the amount that I usually manage.

So lets take a look back...Get comfortable, grab a brew and relax. This is going to be picutre heavy.

The Skirm rules landed on my doormat in early January, this led to a year of kitbashing and conversions.

I got a teddy bear fur mat in African Savanna colours. Fogou's Battle of the Farm set also got painted.

I even managed a game of 5 Parsecs.

I think that the Milki Tours expedition vehicle is the highlight of my hobby year. I am really pleased by this trash bash.

A WIP of a monster I am working on.

The end of the year results are:

Figures painted = 178

Figures reworked = 13

Vehicles finished = 1

Vehicles reworked = 0

Figures bought/arrived = 77

Vehicles bought = 0

I was hoping to get some pictures taken and get my last three blog posts up before the end of the year, but I seem to have been kept occupied over the holiday season.

Right I am going to be off until Next Year (these old worn out seasonal gags just keep kicking, well maybe not kicking - more like twitching possibly) when I will be back to detail my hobby plans for next year.

I wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year. I hope 2026 is a good one for us all.

Thanks for reading and Take care of each other out there.
