Wasteland Wondering

Hello and welcome once again to another Wasteland Wondering. It has been a while since my last blog post and I thought I needed to sign in to show you all that I am still alive and that the rigours of the wastes has not gotten the better of me.

Life has been pretty busy once again over the last few weeks. A close realtive has been in hospital again. The poor guy has spent most of the year in hospital. I hope those wasteland qwacks heal him soon.

In addition to this my wasteland rig has been going into limp mode regularly. The car has been into two mechs who gave up on it. It resulted in me hunting the problem down and sorting myself. I bet Immortan Joe doesnt have these problems! Maybe I should have had them thrown into the mutant pit?!

This car has also had it's mot this week forcing me to commute in the foul weather on the bike. For the non Brits out there the mot is a annual saftey check required by law on all vehicles over 3 years old. The car has had a little suspension work and now rides sweet. I am looking forward to further maurading around the wastes in it. Next up will be the old bike for a mot.

Speaking of maurading about we sometimes visit castles and places of natural beauty. Would these places be of interest to the readers of this blog?

Fear not. During all this madness I got some hobby stuff done in the form of some plastic Amera terrain items. I got them prepped and I have even managed to finish one. I hope to get some posts up soon.

I follow the From the Wastes blog  who can also be found on Twitter and Facebook. He posted up a link to a novel by Benjamin Wallace.

Post Apocalyptic Nomad Warriors is a mix of Mad Max, Steel Dawn and several other PA sources with a little bit of the strangeness that the Fallout series has produced. The novel is a little tongue in cheek and sends up the genre. It gave me a few belly laughs. There is some wonderful dialogue between the characters. I recommend the book. So much so I have just bought the next book Knights of the Apocalypse which is just as much fun.

I have also been playing a game called Fallout Shelter on my tablet. This is a fun little simulation where you have to grown and build your own vault. Whilst not hardcore Fallout I found it entertaining.

Speaking of which I was wondering why someone hasn't reworked the original Fallout titles so they can be played on Tablets and smart phones? I loved those games and I would pay to be able to play them again. If you feel the same post it up on social media. Hopefully we can get someone out there to sit up and sort it!

That's all for now so I will bid you farewell & good luck out in the wastes.

Thanks for reading.
